WOW!!!

Well, it has been forever since I have been on my blog. I can see just how life gets away from us all the time. I have moved a room (from downstairs to up) and lots of furniture around as well as hanging pictures and putting everything it its place. I had no idea how much stuff I really had until I did all of this. I am seeking ideas of how to use all the papercrafting stuff I have as well as creative ways to store it! Is there anyone out there to help me?
Thanks for reading and hopefully great imput!

AND THE WINNER IS..................

Wow what a turn out for the OWH BlogHop! I am so stinkin' impressed. I have decided that I will continue through midnight tonight to make a card for each comment posted. However, I have already gone to Random.org for them to decide a winner of the blog candy! I included posts through 12:01pm (MST) today and there were 91. After going to Random.org I put in my numbers and the random picked number was 43. CONGRATS TO ROBIN. I went to her blog and she is new and just started a blog. Robin has some cute cards so you should check out her blog and leave her some love. Maybe next year she will join us for the OWH Bloghop!!!

On another note, just wanted to say thank you to all that participated and that stopped by, not to mention, a HUGE THANK YOU to all who have served and are currently serving our great nation! Have a blessed Memorial Day!

OPERATION WRITE HOME MEMORIAL DAY BLOGHOP

If you arrived from Dixie, What's Next? you are in the right place! Today you will find a whole lot of amazing card makers and be sure to leave them a little love... when you leave a comment today from Saturday - Sunday at 11:59 pm on Sunday I will be creating one (1) card for OWH! PLUS I will be selecting one random comment to receive this YUU--UUU--MMYY blog candy!!

In March I was introduced to Operation Write Home and fell in love with what they are all about. I love making cards and often have cards that I do not know what to do with. I now have a purpose for those cards I create and I don't send. I love that I can use my creativity and be able to send it to others that greatly appreciate it. I am a granddaughter of a retired Naval Officer and a wife to an Airforce Veteran and want to express my grattitude to not only family, but also all of those that have served, are serving, and will serve our great country. Know that you are missed and appreciated! Every day in my mind, I think about those who sacrafice their time serving to protect our country. Everyday in my heart, I would like to thank those who have sacraficed their lives for it.

Now it's on to Gale, GEL-Oh for the rest of the fun!

If you get lost somewhere along the day you can always go back to the beginning OWH

Day 72, 71, and 70

Well I am finally caught up. I had major creative juices flowing on Saturday and tried to make a slide show for all of you. Didn't work. I guess I will need to get some training on how to post a slide show. Anyhow, I had a great time making this weeks cards; hope you all like them as much as I do!

Day 70 ~ Super Sketchy Sunday

All products used are CTMH except the wiggly eyes.

Day 71 ~ Do That Decade 1920's

This card is made mostly from CTMH products. The image is a vintage sticker I found in my collection of vintage materials
Day 72 ~ It Needs Something!

CTMH products were used to make this card. The purse sticker and the ribbon are from other vendors. Hope you like the cards!

Day 73 ~ Tri Colored

Day 73 ~ Tri- Colored

So here it is: Use an image (stamped or digi) on your card and only use 3 colors (and not different shades of those colors). Black and white are the exceptions to this rule.

Day 74 ~ Buttons And Bows

Day 74 Buttons and Bows 4 of each

Day 75 ~ Card Recipe!

4.25 x 5.5 card
2 patterned papers
stripes
1 piece of ribbon
stamped image (digi counts!)
stamped sentiment

Day 76 ~ Criss Cross Applesauce

Day 76 Challenge

Day 63 ~ Super Sketchy Sunday

Today's sketch was a little interesting for me. I was not sure my stand on the sketch but this what I came up with. I think it is a little on the simple side for my liking. All products are CTMH including the top coat and antiqued copper mini medley. Tell me what you think about the card!

Catch up Day!

Day 62~ Look Who's Talking
I sure like the new stamp sets that are in the new Summer Idea book for Close to My Heart . All products used on this card were CTMH except the fibers and the Black Glaze pen.

Day 61 ~ Circles 3 Ways
This card was fun to make and just like Day 62, I used CTMH products on the whole thing except a white souffle' pen. Gotta check out the new idea book it is great! The three circles in my card are the circles that are cut, sparkles, and polka dot paper. I guess you could count the cherries, but I considered it to be like the cut circles!

Day 60~ All That Glitters
Ok, again I used a new CTMH stamp set on this card. The three different colors of glitter that I used were Stickles-Waterfall, Lime Green, and Copper. Waterfall is on the tail of bird, Copper is used as an outline around the owl and around his eyes, and the Lime Green I used as an outline around the frog, his feet, eyelids, and his worts! I love the way the colors go with the paper (also new in the CTMH idea book)! Hope you like the cards as much as I did!

Day 59 ~ Moving Parts

Day 59~ Moving Parts

Well this challenge was difficult to come up with but once I came up with the idea it was done in a flash. The brad is under the leaf on the branch so the monkey swings back and forth. If I were given this card, I think it would make me laugh! Hope you enjoy this card!

Day 58 ~ Crazy 8's

Day 58 ~Crazy 8's
That means we're looking for things in quantities of 8 - using at least 3 different items on your card, how about that?

Day 58's challenge was difinitely a challenge. I had a hard time finding clusters of eight that went with each other. So my three 8's are: 8 fish, sparkles and air bubbles ( not sure if you can see in the picture). Everything except the graduation hat are CTMH. My take on this card are that fish swim in schools and the one graduated! Hope you all like it!

Catching Up

Ok, so I am officially a slacker, well kinda. I have soen the first two of the week (posted below). The next two will be posted soon. Along with the challenges for 365 Cards, I am also working on some Top Secret projects. I need to make sure that they are done for the unveiling on May 1st. Check back to see what kind of Top Secrets projects that I have up my sleeve.... ok maybe they are a little big to put in my sleeve but definitely in Top Secret Cabinet! For those of you that know what I am talking about... Are you way excited? I sure am! And for those that have no clue, well I will let you in on a little secret, CTMH is releasing their new Summer Idea Book May 1st and man are there some super cute things! Check back on May 1st at 12:01 am(MST) to see what I have posted! Or you can check out my website www.scrappinshak.myctmh.com on May 1st to see the art work. There are so many things you will want to get your hands on! See you soon! Happy Scrapping!

Day 57 ~ Ad Inspired

Day 57~ Ad Insipred Card. This card brought differet thoughts and could not decide how I was taking the add. The first thing I noticed was the cribsets had turtles on them. All I have been able to think about was a turtle shell. I was inspired to create a card that looks like a turtle shell; no head. legs, or tail showing. I wanted this to be a shower card or for a mom that was overdue. That is why I posted the inside that asking the baby to come out of their shell and see the world. I had fun with this challenge. Hope you all like it as much as I do! Everything except the ribbon is CTMH!

Day 56 ~ Super Sketchy Sunday

Day 56 Super Sketchy Sunday
Well I found this challenge to be fun and interesting. On Sunday as I "pond"ered the sketch, I came up with many possibilities but none were an exact match. I was a little overwhelmed with stress as I was supposed to be doing finals but could not seem to those either. So I "hopped" from idea to idea. Today I found the paper that I wanted to use and then the juices started to flow and that is when I knew that "poppy is the most colorful flower in my garden today"! Hope you all enjoy this one. I adore frogs!

Day 55 ~ On Pins and Needles

Well, what a long week. I have finally caught up and one for Sunday to go. I was not sure that I could do the challenges this week. I have some home challenges, finals at school too. So...

needle-less to say I have been on pins and needles to come up with the time to do it all. Did I mention that I also had computer crashing on Saturday so no productivity on the finals.... they will be done on Sunday! Wish me luck on my finals, Lord knows I need all the help I can get! See all of you on Monday when the finals are over to create some more!! The greatest treasures are invisible to the eye and found with the heart! Products used were all CTMH except the saftey pin.

Day 54 ~ Fancy Folds

Ok, I think I need a little help here. The first picture is supposed to be under the second one... what happened? Any advice? Well This card was fun for me because I rarely make girly cards well, little girly cards! All products are CTMH!

Day 53 ~ Front, Back, and Everything In Between

Oh..... my this was a challenge for me. What I thought was going to be easy turned out to be difficult. Everything used is Close To My Heart!
I had fun with this adding the sparkles in the center of the flowers so they would POP!

Day 52 ~ Save The Date

Save the Vegas Wedding Date! Thought about this one almost all week and couldn't find the right materials. Well actually the kids hid the cards from me. I think my favorite is the ring.. look real close and you can see the carat!

Day 51 ~ Tueday's Trio

I am all caught up with this weeks challenges! I have been doing laundry which is not fun and making it fun because I am working on my cards in between. I have sooooo much creativity flowing through my veins at ohhhh, 3 am! I think I may be part vampire.... I think I may consider reading the Twilight series. So with that in mind, I took

Tuesday's Trio challenge! The challenge was for you to use at least one of each of the following 3 items:
Alpha Sticker - Stamp - Red
I made the card starting with cranberry CTMH cardstock and then thought I got it going on. Got what going on? Well duhhh, Game On paper from CTMH. I did however add a little contraban.... the U alpha sticker and in the corners I used shiney silver cardstock cut with a corner punch! LOVE IT! I thought this is a great card for graduation, birthday, Mother's Day, or just because of a job well done! Can't wait for tomorrow, I may have to stay up late just to see the challenge!

Day 50 ~ Digging Deep

Monday's challenge didn't seem that difficult when I read the directions:
1) An item that is more than a year old
2) Something that you were given that you have never used - this could be from a swap or a gift, but it has to have come from someone else.
3) Something you forgot you had.
I read the first one, and finding something that was more than a year old.... well I thought I have lots of stuff, but what should I use, so I went on the the second one, hummmm I am not sure that I have received anything from someone else... I then remembered my friend Jenise gave me some ribbon the other day "I bet I could use". The third, well that was almost impossible..... If I had forgot about it, where would I find it; tucked into a sticker envelope I found the missing puzzle piece (literally)!
So there you have it, paper that is way more than a year old, ribbon that was given to me, and the missing piece to my challenge: the puzzle piece! This was a great challenge!

Day 35~Acrostic Poem

I think so far this was my most challenging card. I thought about the design for several days trying to come up with some thing that I could relate to or with. I am a total "Daddy's Girl" and Father's Day is coming this is perfect. As my poem reads
"D edicated to
A lways love me even in
D isaster!"
Gotta love our dads!

I did it, I took the daily challenge!

Ok, so I took the card challenge from 365 Cards. This is what I came up with. I kinda like it a lot! All of the products are Close To My Heart. It is amazing what you can do when you have a pattern to use. At first I was very unsure of the card. It was something that I have never done before. This was so much fun I think I may have to do another challenge! Watch out 365 cards here I come! Below is the pattern : Day #36 I Quilt! I challenge you to take the daily challenge and send me a picture of what you came up with! Can't wait to see your ideas!

So it is Thursday, April 1st, 1:45am and I am trying to figure out how to organize my scrappin supplies.
